The team met on site with excavation support to set the home footprint and orientation. Septic tank location was reviewed at the same time so the early site plan would support the second-home layout before heavier digging. Footing forms were finished for pour, rebar and wall layout were verified on site, and the wall inspection passed. Stem wall forms were set and ready so concrete could move without losing the inspection window.
The foundation stem wall pour was completed, but two piers could not be poured because of washout. That site condition forced a short delay instead of forcing a weak pour—an early example of mountain-site sequencing staying honest about ground conditions.
Work shifted to utilities and sewer lines while dirt moved for backfill grading. Digging and backfill continued in parallel so underground work would not trap the next framing steps.
With foundation and underground work far enough ahead, the crew set sill plates and began running floor joists—the first clear step from groundwork into structure.
